An estimated 18 million people used Twitter in 2009. LinkedIn is a social networking website that is specifically used for companies to market their products. It hosts more than 75 million members who are specifically looking for career placements or potential customers. It allows users to get into contact with people who are hiring and apply for positions while using the people that they know to further their applications for those jobs.

The benefits of using social networking sites like these are numerous. If you wish to market your product to your clients, you would simply need to email them in one massive email or newsletter. You can either have this newsletter on your Facebook page then simply tweet to your clients that there are new products on your website, or you can email the entire newsletter to their email addresses. You can also gain new clients by “following” your old clients and noting who “follows” them. Once you are added to the other people’s Twitter accounts, you can send them information about your products that they will find useful. This is a great and inexpensive way to market your products, and you may not have to do anything to get it done. If you announce to your clients that they will receive a bonus each time someone adds you as a “friend” on Facebook or “follows” you on Twitter or “connects” with you on LinkedIn, you will not have to worry about upsetting potential clients or bugging people who do not want your product. They will come to you. Using LinkedIn to market your services will help professional clients see that you can offer them more than another company. Having additional information for these clients will help you continue to be competitive in your field and will keep your clients returning for more services.
